Email set-up and Configuration - Virus Scanning and Spam Blocking
Client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape, etc.) Incoming POP3 server configuration
All login user accounts are now in a full email address format like myname@mydomain.com . The POP3 server will normally have the format mail.mydomain.com but if there's a problem you can always use mail.asphostingservices.com no matter what domain you have. The WebMail is available here: http://mail.asphostingservices.com/ login with your full email address and password. If you have an admin account you can manage your domain here: http://mail.asphostingservices.com/admin/ to add, edit, delete email accounts.
Outgoing SMTP server configuration
The recommendation is that you use your local ISP's outgoing SMTP server, in fact many ISP's will insist you do. If you do need to use our outgoing SMTP server it is mail.asphostingservices.com and requires authentication using the same settings as the incoming POP3 server so it's your full email address and password. To avoid/bypass any ISP filters change your SMTP port to 225 and you should be fine. Yes you still need to authenticate. And please if you are using our SMTP to send email, do NOT send JUCE, UCE, SPAM or whatever you like to call it, bulk, unsolicited emails. Your account will be terminated immediately, with no discussion.
